Powered Door Operators
Door automation in the home improves the independence of disabled people. Powered door openers can be fitted to external doors, patio doors and internal doors whether they are timber, composite or PVCu.
Activation can be achieved by using push pads, automatic sensors; long range readers attached to wheelchairs or key fob radio transmitters. In most cases the radio transmitter offers the best solution as they can easily be carried on a key ring.
The first press of the fob releases the electric lock and powers the door to open approximately 90 degrees. The door remains open indefinitely until a second press powers the door closed and the door locks on closing.
People using the door benefit from assisted opening with ‘Push & Go’. A gentle push of the door will trigger the door to power open and close automatically with no delay.
It is recommended that a joint assessment with the occupational therapist / social worker is carried out to survey the door and its location and assess the best activation option for the service user, after which we can provide our quotation.
