Audio & Video Door Entry
Door access systems are now deemed essential for vulnerable people who may otherwise have to leave their doors unlocked to allow key workers and visitors access. The fitting of an electric lock release means that the door can be kept locked but, can be electrically unlocked remotely, by the press of a button. When installed these systems allow callers to be identified before entry is allowed. Unwanted callers can be politely rejected. More recently the cost of a video door entry has reduced and is similarly priced to audio only and offers the benefit of audio and visual identification. This provides a more secure access control system as callers can be vetted visually too.
All these systems consist of an external door station providing audio only or a combined audio/visual output. Internally, the options are to have a wired telephone handset, video monitor, cordless phone, or mobile phone as the receiving devices. A dedicated power supply is required, and this can be plugged in to an electrical socket or connected directly to a fused mains outlet.
